Scales: A Harmonic View


Did you know… that scales are as much a harmonic pattern as they are melodic?

A scale is so much more than a sequence of notes that go up and down in “steps”. Every scale is also rich with harmonic relationships, too.

For example, the C Major Scale might be conceived as the combination of the “big three” major triads: C (C E G), F (F A C), and G (G B D) as follows…
