Why learn to read music? The answer is simple…

Learn to read
so you can read to learn!

Those who learn to read, in other words, those who become musically literate, will be rewarded in at least two valuable ways:

  1. They will gain access to an incredibly rich library of composed music and educational materials.
  2. The process of learning to read will deepen their understanding of what makes music tick.
  3. Valuable musical skills such as sight-reading, memorization, ear training, improvisation, and transposition become infinitely easier.

And so, the ability to read music is more than a valuable skill in itself. Learning to read, done right, opens doors of understanding that can be opened no other way.
