Why learn to read music? The answer is simple…
Learn to read music
so you can read to learn music!
Those who learn to read music, in other words, those who become musically literate, will be richly rewarded in at least three ways:
- They will gain access to an incredibly rich library of composed music and educational materials.
- They will deepen their understanding of how music works.
- They will automatically develop the ability to memorize, improvise, and transpose.
And so, the ability to read music is more than a valuable skill in itself. Learning to read, done right, opens doors of musical comprehension that can be opened no other way.
