Study-Practice Notes…

  • The left hand pattern is simple: A double-pump 1-5 followed by a b3 and 3 for each of the big three chords. (Do you see the value of knowing your scales and chords?)
  • Let gravity do the work!
  • Study-practice hands separately using the drummer’s trick.
  • Technique: Never throw your hands at the keys. Use a prepared attack and let gravity drop the weight of your arms/hands/fingers into each chord with just enough support to keep your hands and fingers from collapsing.
  • No flams between the left and right hands!

LIKES really matter in getting the word out! If you learned something here today, please take a moment to comment on and “LIKE” the lessons that speak to you. Thanks and peace.
