Seventh in the series… a standard minor third-major third boogie pattern in the left hand with more minor third- major third action in the right…
- The left hand pattern is simple: A double-pump 1-5 followed by a b3 and 3 for each of the big three chords. (Do you see the value of knowing your scales and chords?)
- Let gravity do the work!
- Study-practice hands separately using the drummer’s trick.
- Technique: Never throw your hands at the keys. Use a prepared attack and let gravity drop the weight of your arms/hands/fingers into each chord with just enough support to keep your hands and fingers from collapsing.
- No flams between the left and right hands!
