Let’s add some country twang to the basic pattern. Notice that the root of each chord is never played in the right hand and that “the 5” of each chords is sustained while “the 2” resolves to “the 3″…


Study-Practice Notes

  • Technique: Play each twang note and its resolution as an integrate musical and physical idea, not two separate notes.
  • Extensions: As always, using your knowledge of chord theory, play this pattern in all keys you want to master (Suggested keys, those preferred by guitar players, are C, G, D, A, E).
